Industry bosses have blasted uninsured drivers for pushing up the cost of motoring, and according to those in the know, the situation is set to get worse.

Industry bosses have blasted uninsured drivers for pushing up the cost of motoring, and according to those in the know, the situation is set to get worse.

The Irish Insurance Federation have said tonight that over £50 of the premium for every insured vehicle goes to cover the cost of claims against uninsured drivers.

Insurance Federation chief executive Michael Kemp said this evening that the current state of play is dramatically adding to the cost of motor insurance.
