The body of a woman has been found off the West Kerry Coast.

The body of a woman has been found off the West Kerry Coast.

A major search was launched this afternoon by Valentia Coast Guard following the discovery of the woman’s car at Inch beach on the Dingle Peninsula.

The woman is believed to be a 25-year-old woman from the Abbeyfeale area of Limerick. She was last seen in the Kerry area at 9pm last night.

Her car was discovered at Slipways Inch beach and authorities were notified. A Shannon based helicopter, the Dingle Coast guard and local gardai were all involved in the search.

The body has been taken to Tralee General Hospital where a post-mortem will be performed later today. Foul play is not suspected.
