The number of people on the Live Register increased by 25,000, or 18%, in the last 12 months, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

The seasonally adjusted figures showed a Live Register increase of 1,600 in the month of July, bringing the total number of people signing on to 165,000.

Ireland’s standardised unemployment rate now stands at 4.4%, according to the CSO.
