Stones should stop rolling - Noel

Noel Gallagher today turned his acid tongue on the Rolling Stones who he said should quit even as they prepare for a world tour.

The Oasis star claimed the veteran rockers have only made one good album, Let it Bleed.

‘‘The rest of the them, I just can’t sit through all that nonsense,’’ he told Maxim magazine.

‘‘They should just call it a day. I would like to say to them, ’Have you got anything better to do?’ I mean, surely to God.’’

Gallagher’s outburst came as the Stones geared up for their latest world tour which kicks off in Boston on September 5.

The 35-year-old also lashed out at Ozzfest headliners System of a Down, declaring: ‘‘Of all the bands that have gone before and all the bands that’ll be in the future, I was around when the worst was around.’’

He completed his tirade with a swipe at The Strokes, criticising them for not having shoes that match their jackets.

Gallagher has made a string of attacks on fellow rock and pop acts in recent weeks as he promotes the latest Oasis release, Heathen Chemistry.

Last month he branded pop diva Kylie Minogue a ‘‘demonic little idiot’’ with a stupid name.
