The Garda website is down again today as the site struggles to cope with the volume of users trying to access a map of new mobile speed cameras.

The privately operated cameras are being rolled out on collision blackspots across the country from midnight tonight.

It is understood that the sheer volume of visitors to garda.ie, where the map is published, has knocked the site out of action again.

Up to 6,000 acres of road across the country will be monitored by new speed cameras.
