Rise in Cork TB cases

The number of cases of TB at a Cork school has risen to 37.

The number of cases of TB at a Cork school has risen to 37.

The HSE says one further active case of TB has been detected in the past week and 11 children have a latent form of the disease.

Latent TB is not infectious but if untreated, can develop into active TB.

Meanwhile, a UCC Professor has raised the issue of compensation for those affected by the disease where the HSE has not offered a routine vaccination.
