Fermanagh, Roscommon and Cavan record victories

Fermanagh stole top spot of Division 3 of the Allianz Football League this afternoon, while there were also wins for Roscommon and Cavan.

Fermanagh fired seven unanswered points in the third quarter as they claimed a 0-15 to 0-9 win over Sligo at Brewster Park, Enniskillen.

Sligo led by 0-3 to 0-1 after 10 minutes, and although Fermanagh levelled the tie, the visitors moved 0-5 to 0-3 ahead thanks to scored from Adrian Marren and Francis Quinn.

Sligo edged a 0-7 to 0-6 lead early on the restart, but Fermanagh fired seve points without reply.

Tomas Corrigan, Keenan, Paul Ward, O'Brien and Tommy McElroy with crucial scores.

Marren bagged a brace for the visitors late on, but Fermanagh had done enough to claim victory.

Roscommon claimed a hard-earned 0-8 to 0-7 win over Monaghan at Dr Hyde Park today.

A late Michael Finneran point was crucial in a game which saw little between the sides, particularly during the closing 35 minutes.

The sides were tied at 0-7 apiece with five minutes remaining, but Roscommon dug deep for Finneran to snatch the match winner.

Monaghan were full value for their 0-5 to 0-2 lead at half-time, with Darren Hughes, Owen Lennon and Kieran Hughes among their first half scorers.

Monaghan led by 0-7 to 0-3 following a Kieran Hughes point in the 48th minute, but amazingly failed to score for the remainder of the contest.

Cavan impressed as they claimed an 0-14 to 0-11 win over Wicklow at Aughrim.

The visitors led from the 14th minute of this contest until the end, once Martin Dunne placed them into a 0-4 to 0-3 lead.

Dunne and Martin Reilly were hugely impressive for Cavan, as the Breffni County led by 0-8 to 0-4 at the interval, with six first half points from the boot of Dunne.

Wicklow fought back on the restart, but Cavan never relinquished their lead.

Meanwhile, Antrim's game against Meath due to take place in Casement Park was postponed due to bad weather in Belfast in recent days.
