A 54-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Co Wicklow.

A 54-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Co Wicklow.

The man was walking on the N11 at Scratnagh, close to Arklow, when the accident happened at 3.25am.

His body was taken to St Columcille's Hospital in Loughlinstown.

Gardaí in Arklow are investigating.

The man's death brings to 365 the total number of road fatalities this year.
