Caribbean Coral goes for his second win in the Vodafone “Dash” Stakes at Epsom on Saturday.
The eight-year-old took the Heritage Handicap in 2004 when he covered the fast five-furlong course in 54.86 seconds but has been out of luck in the last two runnings.
Only 11th behind Fire Up The Band in 2005, he was a creditable sixth to Desert Lord last June.
Caribbean Coral showed he is as good as ever by winning at Chester recently - for which he picked up a 4lb penalty.
“I’m very pleased with him. He’s in good nick and he likes it there. He’s run several times there and always run well,” said his trainer John Quinn.
Quinn also saddles Fantasy Explorer but is concerned the ground might be too soft for the four-year-old.
“Fantasy Explorer is also in good form but might want the ground to dry a bit.”
