P Diddy being sued by songwriters

P Diddy and his record label are being sued for £700,000 for allegedly cheating three songwriters out of royalties.

P Diddy and his record label are being sued for £700,000 for allegedly cheating three songwriters out of royalties.

Todd Gaither, Kelly Price and Jeremy Graham co-wrote six tracks on the 1997 album No Way Out, including the hit I'll Be Missing You.

But they claim "fraudulent activities" by the star and Bad Boy Entertainment meant they received minimal royalties from the five million selling CD.

Their lawsuit, filed in Manhattan State Supreme Court, claims the recording deal put a cap on the amount of royalties paid out on songs written or co-written by P Diddy, real name Sean Combs.

A spokeswoman for Combs said: "This lawsuit has no merit whatsoever."
