The controversy surrounding the recent spate of cocaine-linked deaths and illnesses is expected to be raised in the Dáil today.

The issue is high on the public agenda following the deaths of two men in Waterford and the alleged involvement of cocaine in the death of model Katy French.

A number of other people are also reported to be in a critical condition in hospital after suspected drugs overdoses.

Fine Gael claims the Government is losing the battle against drugs and is demanding tougher measures to tackle the supply of illegal substances.
