The body washed up on the Tel Aviv shore last week is failed Derby suicide bomber Omar Sharif, the Israeli forensic institute said today.
A post mortem revealed he drowned, reports said.
Dr Yehuda Hiss, head of the Forensics Institute, said two British detectives provided DNA samples.
Sharif, a father-of-two, fled the scene of a suicide attack in the Israeli coastal city on April 30 after his explosive pack failed to detonate.
His colleague, from Hounslow, west London, blew himself up outside a bar killing three others.
Sharif had became the most wanted man in Israel after police found his passport at the scene of the bombing.
