Police arrest man after beheading in London

A man has been arrested after another man in his 60s was beheaded today in an attack on a north London street.

A man has been arrested after another man in his 60s was beheaded today in an attack on a north London street.

It is believed the victim was attacked with an axe in Eton Avenue, Swiss Cottage.

Police were called to the scene at 9.38am to reports of a “serious assault in progress”.

On arrival, police officers found a man with "severe'' injuries.

A man was arrested at the scene and is now in custody at a central London police station.

It is understood that several people witnessed the attack, which was still in progress when police were called.
