Ayr set to inspect

Tomorrow's Flat meeting at Ayr must survive a midday inspection later today.

The track is not currently raceable and more rain is forecast, as well as gale force strength winds.

While not too much more rain is forecast for the rest of today, clerk of the course Emma Marley is not too hopeful as plenty more rain is forecast for tomorrow.

"We are heavy, waterlogged in places and present and not currently raceable," she said.

"We had much more rain than was anticipated and while we are only forecast showers today tomorrow looks grim.

"We are forecast gale force winds with up to another 10mm of rain so we'd have to see a significant improvement by midday I think."
