Employers are warning that any successor to the national wage agreement must not include pay increases in double figures.

Employers' federation IBEC says Ireland must regain its competitive edge as negotiations on a successor to the PPF get underway.

IBEC's Brendan McGinty says employers will seek alternatives to social partnership if their demands aren’t met.

He says the groups would like to see a consensus approached, restoring competitiveness to centre stage tackling issues such as inflation, a low tax environment and value for money for our public services.
