Paraglider dies after crashing into sea off Antrim

A 50-year-old paraglider has died after crashing into the sea near Portrush in Co Antrim yesterday evening.

A 50-year-old paraglider has died after crashing into the sea near Portrush in Co Antrim yesterday evening.

The accident happened near Whiterocks beach just before 8pm, when the man landed in the sea and got tangled in his lines.

An air and sea rescue operation was launched and the paraglider was pulled alive from the water, but he died a short time later in hospital.
