Two men killed in separate road accidents

Gardaí are investigating two fatal road crashes in Co Sligo and Co Wexford yesterday.

A 56-year-old man died after being hit by a truck on the Sligo to Manorhamilton Road just before 4.30pm.

The road remains closed this morning for technical examination.

Earlier, a 31-year-old man died when his van collided with a truck near New Ross.

He was pronounced dead at Waterford Regional Hospital at around 1pm.

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries in the crash.
