Three people have been killed in road accidents overnight.

A 31-year-old man died in a two-car collision in Maynooth just after 10pm last night.

Another 31-year-old man was killed when his car collided with a four-wheel drive in Rathmore in Co Kerry just after midnight.

The man was pronounced dead on arrival at Tralee general hospital.

Earlier, a 12-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a car in West Belfast.

Two other children were injured in the incident, which happened at the junction of the Falls road and the Springfield road.

The children were walking on the path when a car left the road and hit them.
