The agent of reported Manchester City target Jo believes “something will happen” in the near future to allow the CSKA Moscow striker to move to Eastlands.

It was claimed in a report earlier this week that the 21-year-old Brazilian - whose full name is Joao Alves de Assis Silva – was set to sign for the Barclays Premier League club in a €20m deal despite recently extending his contract with the Russians to 2011.

His agent Marcelo Djian has now expressed confidence that a move can be agreed, despite apparent differences in the valuation of the player.

“I’ve made some calls to Russia and they told me there was no formal offer, but I think something will happen,” Djian told www.globoesporte.com.

“I know CSKA president (Evgeny Giner) wants €25m, the release clause to sell Jo.”
