Gardaí have discovered a cannabis grow house in Co Clare, it has emerged.

As part of an operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis, gardaí from Kilrish Garda Station searched a house at Breaffa, Carraigaholt, Co Clare yesterday.

Gardaí discovered 600 plants growing and evidence of in excess of 500 harvested plants.

Subject to analysis, the drugs seized may have a street value of almost €500,000.

The scene remains preserved and a technical examination of the area is being carried out. There have been no arrests.
