Labour hits out at 'No to Treaty' ad

The Labour Party has hit out at a full page advertisement urging a 'No' vote in the Lisbon Treaty referendum.

The Labour Party has hit out at a full page advertisement urging a 'No' vote in the Lisbon Treaty referendum.

The party’s European Affairs spokesperson Joe Costello said the ad was a "litany of brazen generalisations".

The ad, which appears in today's Sunday Independent, was taken out by the Libertas Campaign, headed by businessman Declan Ganley.

He has urged voters to reject the Lisbon Treaty in the interests of the country, but Mr Costello said the ad was "devoid of factual substance".
