A multi-agency investigation has been launched in the North into a suspected case of rabies.

A multi-agency investigation has been launched in the North into a suspected case of rabies.

A patient fell ill after returning from overseas in an area associated with the infection and may have been bitten there.

The Health Board in Belfast confirmed initial tests on the patients were positive but says there is no risk to anyone else.

There is no treatment for the infection, which is always fatal.
