Galway United 3 Bray Wanderers 1

Teenage striker Aaron Greene scored twice to edge Bray closer to relegation before a small crowd at Terryland Park.

Galway started brightly with John Russell hitting a post with a shot inside two minutes.

Greene then gave the westerners a deserved lead on 15 minutes when heading home Vinny Faherty’s cross.

The same two combined to double Galway’s lead on the half hour. Faherty again with the assist, cutting the ball back for Greene to score.

Bray hit back six minutes before the break when Dane Massey turned home a Dave Mulcahy shot following a corner.

But Russell sealed the win on 83 minutes when shooting home after superb inter-play between Derek O’Brien and Faherty.
