Eric Lavine scored twice as Longford earned themselves a sixth place finish in the Premier Division.

Lavine opened the scoring on six minutes when he turned home an Alan Kirby corner.

Lavine increased Town´s lead on 28 minutes when his 30 yard shot flew through the legs of Drogheda keeper Gary Rogers.

Paul Keegan stretched Town´s lead six minutes later from a Sean Dillon cross.

A mistake by Dillon then presented Andy Myler with the chance to fire home Drogheda´s consolation goal on 74 minutes.
