The people of Ballybunion are bracing themselves for a surprise visit from Bill Clinton this weekend.

The people of Ballybunion are bracing themselves for a surprise visit from Bill Clinton this weekend.

The former US President is scheduled to play golf at the world famous links at some stage over the next 48 hours and a tight security operation is expected to get underway in the county.

Former president of Ballybunion golf club, Munster MEP Gerard Collins, said that the visit will give Irish tourism a badly needed boost.
