Sean Friars was the Derry hero as his late goal put the Candystripes into the FAI Cup final.

Friars struck for the only goal of the game on 76 minutes when Cork were caught napping at the back and he shot past Michael Devine.

Derry had another hero in their keeper Alan Gough who saved a poorly taken spot kick from John O'Flynn five minutes earlier afte rthe CIty goal ace had been taken down by Paddy McLaughlin.
