Moscow police have arrested a suspected contract killer who is alleged to have advertised his services on the internet.

Moscow police have arrested a suspected contract killer who is alleged to have advertised his services on the internet.

The arrest follows an undercover investigation after an internet page was spotted by police in May. Agents apprehended the suspect in Samara after pretending to be potential clients.

According to the ITAR-Tass news agency, the man, whose name has not been disclosed, was handcuffed after undercover agents paid him several thousand dollars for a fake assignment.

The internet is apparently becoming increasingly popular with Russian criminals.

Russian and US police are currently investigating a case in which Russians allegedly hacked US websites, stealing thousands of shoppers' credit card records.
