Govt approves €2m aid for Ethiopia

The Government has approved a €2m food aid package for famine-stricken Ethiopia, where 14 million people are facing starvation.

The Government has approved a €2m food aid package for famine-stricken Ethiopia, where 14 million people are facing starvation.

The aid will be distributed by non-governmental organisations including Irish aid agencies.

Junior Minister Tom Kitt is also planning to visit the country in January to see the situation for himself.
