Charlton goalkeeper Dean Kiely and Tottenham defender Stephen Carr have also pulled out. Kiely missed a reserve match on Wednesday with a groin injury, while Carr is struggling with a stomach problem.

Republic manager Mick McCarthy has called up uncapped Hibernian goalkeeper Nick Colgan as cover for Alan Kelly (Blackburn) and Shay Given (Newcastle United).
