Members of Belgium's Royal family have had eggs thrown at them during a visit to a Dutch city.

Two eggs narrowly missed Prince Filip and his wife Princess Mathilde when they were welcomed by the mayor of Turnhout.

They landed on the red carpet in front of the city hall.

Police searched unsuccessfully for the culprit in the crowd of at least 6,000 people.
