Former journalist George Lee is on course for victory in the Dublin South by-election.
Early tallies indicate that he has more than half of the vote in the race to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Fianna Fáil TD Seamus Brennan earlier this year.
With a quarter of the boxes tallied here for Dublin South, Fine Gael's star candidate George Lee already has 53% of the vote.
Labour Senator Alex White is coming in second, with Seamus Brennan's son Shay a close third.
These early figures mean Lee could reach the quota on the first count - a rare achievement in a by-election and something that Fine Gael's director of elections Brian Hayes says would be an astonishing feat.
The Dublin Central Constituency is proving much harder to call - with a third of the boxes open it's neck and neck between Tony Gregory's former election agent Maureen O'Sullivan and Fine Gael's Paschal Donohue.
Labour's Ivana Bacik is coming in third.
