Late Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin is set to be immortalised as an action figure.

The talking Irwin figure, which has been approved his family, will be unveiled at the International Toy Fair in New York City in February.

The retail price of the doll, which is being made by toy company Wild Republic, is $22 (€16.7).

Irwin, 44, died in September, in Queensland, Australia when a stingray barb pierced his heart while he was filming underwater footage for a TV special.

His eight-year-old daughter Bindi said in a statement: "We all know that Daddy had an important job. He was working to change the world so everyone would love wildlife like he did. Now it's our turn to help him."
