Unemployment group concerned at jobless figures

The Irish National Organisation of the Unemployed has said it is worried by the increase in the live register figures.

However, spokesperson Camille Loftus said the INOU was more concerned about the job losses in traditional industries than the downturn in the computer sector.

She said that while workers with computer skills would be able to find new jobs fairly quickly, those less-skilled workers would have difficulty in finding new employment outside their own area of expertise.
