Cork senior hurlers have been given a major boost ahead of their GAA All-Ireland SHC phase three qualifier on July 18, with the return of two-time All-Ireland winner Brian Murphy to the squad.

Murphy trained with the panel last night and is a welcome addition for Cork manager Denis Walsh as he bids to keep the momentum going, following last weekend's victory over Offaly.

The Bride Rovers player previously played senior hurling for the Rebels between 2004 and 2008, before opting out of the panel this year.

Cork will face Clare, Galway, Limerick or Wexford in the phase three qualifier, with the draw set to take place this Sunday.

Clare take on Galway and Limerick face Wexford in the phase two qualifiers this Saturday.

Meanwhile the other phase one winner Laois can be paired with Clare, Limerick or Wexford, but cannot face Galway as they have played the Tribesmen already in the Leinster SHC.
