A man is in critical condition in hospital after an assault in Derry, following an apprentice boy’s march there.

A man is in critical condition in hospital after an assault in Derry, following an apprentice boy’s march there.

It’s understood the incident happened when a bus full of returning marchers came under attack by stone throwers as it passed through the village of Killrae at 7.30pm yesterday.

A number of men alighted the bus and the victim was assaulted in a field off the Garva road.
