Ruby Walsh has targeted a return to the saddle next month as he continues to recuperate from a double fracture of his right leg.

Walsh suffered the injury when coming to grief on Corrick Bridge at Down Royal on November 6 – just over an hour after having partnered Kauto Star to victory in the JNwine.com Champion Chase.

While he accepts the healing process is taking time, the star Irish jockey plans to make a comeback in February.

“It’s going slowly, but it’s getting there,” Walsh told the Morning Line on Channel 4.

“Hopefully I’ll be back by the middle to the end of February.”
