The Community Platform is to meet the Government today to outline its social partnership demands.

The platform, which represents 26 anti-poverty groups, said the deal under negotiation will fail unless it tackles disadvantage and inequality.

Spokesman Kieran Murphy said: "We put before Government a range of proposals which would look at issues like the adequacy of social welfare payments, access to healthcare and social housing and trying to eliminate homelessness.

"There's a whole range of things that we're trying to progress in the talks," he added.
