Breakdown services prepare for 'Flat Battery Monday'

Today has been dubbed 'Flat Battery Monday', as it is the first day back to work for many and cars which were parked up over the Christmas break can often fall victim to a flat battery.

The breakdown call-out service Allianz Global Assistance reports that on this day last year they received twice as many requests for jump-starts, compared to an average weekday.

The busiest time for these calls was between 9am and 11am, as people were going to work and on the school run.
