Alesi stars at Donington
Former Formula One star Jean Alesi took the honours at Donington Park today as the German Touring Car Championship visited Britain.
The former Ferrari driver, now driving for Mercedes, completed the 25 laps around the Leicestershire circuit more than 12 seconds clear of Christian Abt’s Audi with fellow Audi racer Mattias Ekstrom third.
Former British Touring Car champion Alain Menu looked like pushing Alesi all the way to the flag but he suffered a puncture late on and dropped out of contention.
