Manchester United are to make a £4m (€6.3m) move for Rennes defender Julien Escude, according to the Daily Star.

Manchester United are to make a £4m (€6.3m) move for Rennes defender Julien Escude, according to the Daily Star.

The paper reports that Escude's two agents have confirmed United's interest in the left-sided full-back or central defender.

The 22-year-old is also being chased by Liverpool and Leeds.

United are regarded as favourites to land him as a replacement for Denis Irwin.
