Amazing Australian X Factor audition sends Keating bonkers
Former Boyzone frontman Ronan Keating has been a judge on the Australian version of The X Factor since 2010 and this weekend he was stunned by a brilliant young talent on the show.
Keating - along with fellow judges Dannii Minogue, LMFAO’s Redfoo and Natalie Bassingthwaighte - was waiting for the last contestant of the day to come onto the stage for the live audition phase of The X Factor.
14-year-old Rachael Thompson from Melbourne had been singing her whole life and was full of confidence as she went on stage telling the judges “I’m going to win”.
Of course everyone says that, but Rachael was able to back it up and had Ronan exclaiming “this is why I’m here” after the first line of the song.
Thompson wowed the judges with her performance of Gabrielle Aplin's hit ‘Please Don't Say You Love Me’ and literally produced goosebumps on the back of Keating’s arm.
As she ends the song to a standing ovation, Keating can’t help but leap up on the table with excitement.
Ronan even rushes up on to the stage to give the talented youngster a hug.
Thompson sails through to the next round and we are sure all the judges will be fighting to get the ‘girls’ category in the show.
