Electric Picnic offers free tickets to charity fundraisers

Festival fans have been given a chance to get their hands on tickets for this year's Electric Picnic - by raising money for charity.

Temple Street Children’s University Hospital announced their partnership with Festival Republic 2014 and Electric Picnic, which has gifted 100 weekend tickets to the hospital to help raise €50,000.

The first 100 people to register at the hospital's website before August 15 and donate or commit to fundraise €500 for sick children will get the tickets.

The three-day arts and music festival will kick off on August 29 with acts like Beck, Portishead, Paolo Nutini, London Grammar and Chic leading the bill.

Organisers confirmed that 100% of donations will go directly to the hospital.

At the launch of this exciting partnership, Denise Fitzgerald, CEO of Fundraising said: "We were really touched when Electric Picnic partnered with our hospital on this fantastic fundraising initiative.

"To put it into perspective – these 100 tickets will help us to raise €50,000 for our hospital. That’s a new dialysis machine or an incubator for a critically ill child.

"On behalf of our patients I would like to sincerely thank Melvin Benn, all at Festival Republic and everyone involved in Electric Picnic.

"They have been amazing supporters of Temple Street for many years, raising vital funds for our little patients."
