Cork forward Jonathan O'Callaghan has been ruled out of Sunday week's All-Ireland hurling final against Kilkenny due to injury.

The Castletownroche clubman broke a cheek bone in training at the weekend and has to have surgery.

The former Cork intermediate attacker played in all of Cork's League games this year and made his senior championship debut against Kerry. He retained his place for the Munster semi-final win over Limerick.

He has been sprung from the bench in all of Cork's games since.
