Footballer's life saved by opposing player

Tonight's game between Dynamo Kiev and Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk almost had a tragic ending, averted thanks to the actions of a player on the field.

The video is truly dramatic.

Oleh Husev was hit hard in the head by the goalkeeper's knee, which knocked him unconscious - and, according to media reports, he swallowed his own tongue, blocking off his airway.

Jaba Kankava, playing for Dnipro, rushed to his aid and cleared his airway, after which Husev jerks awake.

It all happens in a matter of seconds, but had he been left without oxygen, the results could have been terrible. A 19-year-old footballer in Jordan died from a similar incident last November.
