West Ham midfielder Mark Noble is reportedly considering making himself available for the Republic of Ireland international side.
Noble was born in London and represented England 20 times at U21 level, but has never been called up to the senior squad.
On Thursday England manager Roy Hodgson named his side for the next round of international matches and Noble was left out once again.
The 27-year-old qualifies to play for Ireland through his Cork grandparents and has been pursued by Martin O’Neill since he took over as Ireland manager.
O’Neill feels Noble, who was West Ham’s player year last season, could play a valuable role in his side during the 2016 Euro qualifying campaign and having been snubbed by Hodgson once again the player is giving the idea serious consideration.
