Robbie Keane with the best-worst assist of the season

Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane got a bit lucky last night.

The former Spurs and Liverpool striker bizzarely set up Marcelo Sarvas for LA Galaxy's second goal in their 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Completely missing his shot in the Whitecaps' box, Robbie inadvertently passed the ball with his right foot through the Whitecaps defence to Sarvas, who calmly stroked it into the net.

“So is Robbie Keane going to get an assist on this?”

The first question asked by the co-commentator after Sarvas' goal.

And the answer to the question is - yes, Keane got the assist.

Robbie Keane’s description of his, ahem, assist? “Best ever.”
