A spokesman for the UN Relief and Works Agency has broken down in tears during a TV interview.

Chris Gunness thanked the interviewer for their questions, before he began to cry.

He was describing how shells had struck a school in Gaza, killing about 20 people.

The conflict has seen nearly 1,300 Palestinians and 56 Israeli soldiers killed in three weeks of fighting.

Gunness got to the end of the Al-Jazeera interview, before breaking down.
