Aldi Ireland has begun the rollout of a new click and collect service for customers of the discount grocery chain.
The service will allow customers to order their shopping online at least one day, and up to one week, prior to picking it up for a fee of €4.99.
Following a successful trial in Dublin, the service has been extended to customers through 15 of its stores across Ireland from February 8th to early March.
It is expected that this phase of rollout will include Aldi outlets in all the major urban centres of Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway.
Following this initial phase, the service will be extended to further stores across the country in the near future.
Customers will be offered timeslots to arrive at dedicated click-and-collect points in store car parks, where they can pick up their shopping.
Niall O’Connor, group managing director at Aldi Ireland, said: “Following the success of the initial trials of the service, we’re really excited to now be able to offer Click and Collect to Irish customers in this roll-out to selected stores.
“We’re really thrilled to offer even more ways for our customers to access the high-quality, affordable food they shop at Aldi for, especially at this time with all of us continuing to live through the impact of the pandemic.
“We are continuously reviewing and looking at new ways we can enhance our customers’ experience with Aldi and this is another solution that we’re proud to provide.”
Aldi already has a rapid delivery service in some stores in Ireland in partnership with Deliveroo.
