Irish retailer Centra has revealed plans to create 430 new jobs after recording strong sales in 2021.
According to the company, it recorded sales of €1.98 billion, with 2.5 per cent annual growth last year.
During the pandemic, the retailer experienced increased demand for convenient meal solutions and treats.
Moo’d Ice Cream, Centra’s own ice cream, recorded sales of €10 million in 2021, up more than 52 per cent on 2020.
Meanwhile, the Inspired by Centra range saw strong growth with a 40 per cent increase in sales. The company's Freshly Prepared range of meals also saw a 40 per cent jump in sales.
Following a strong sales performance in 2021, Centra has revealed plans to open 18 new stores in 2022, creating 430 jobs.
The €25 million investment comes after the company opened 11 new stores in 2o21, while revamping 64 existing stores.
