The recipients of a grant scheme worth €5.3 million for online retailers have been announced by Minister of State for Business Damien English.
The funding will go to 145 retailers to aid their online sales both in Ireland and overseas.
According to the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, 70 per cent of the successful grant applicants are based outside Dublin, with 204 applications being received by the Department since it was announced as part of the July Stimulus Package.
The successful retailers will receive between €16,000 and €40,000 to strengthen their online sales. The average grant value is €36,700, covering up to 80 per cent of project costs.

Announcing the recipients, Mr English said the Government are committed to helping Irish businesses through the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The economic value of operating in the e-commerce space and its convenience for customers has come to the fore in 2020 and this scheme aims to help companies improve and maximise digital sales prospects.
“We know that consumers are keen to support their local retailers, even when shopping online, and these grants will help businesses to really maximise the opportunities in the e-commerce market.”
